INTERNATIONAL DESIGN PROJECT CCM

INTERNATIONAL DESIGN PROJECT (CCM)

MOISÉS HERNÁNDEZ

COVID-19

We had a workshop in Switzerland in collaboration with ECAL that needed to be cancelled due to the current situation. We redirect our efforts in order to create design proposals that could help in the fight against COVID-19, thinking not only about the emergency but also encouraging awareness in our students about what we are experiencing and what are the challenges that we will face in the future. These projects were part of the international award, COVID-19, organized by the Global Grad Show in Dubai.

BIODEGRADABLE TESTING KIT

SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

Luis Fernando Sánchez Barrios

It is a disposable home detection kit for COVID-19. It is made with the same natural plant fibers as toilet paper; cellulose. Does not contain plastic, fiberglass or nitrocellulose elements. Can be disintegrated in the toilet and is safe for most plumbing systems. The test can biodegrade in the soil in less than 10 weeks, just like a banana peel.

THE FAREWELL SUIT

ANTI-COVID AWARD

María José Alvarez and Héctor Mendoza

The Farewell suit is a project aimed to tackle the frustrating situation of family members not being able to say goodbye to their dying loved ones. The solution is a three piece hazard suit that provides full protection from ankles to head. It seeks to provide a sense of normality by being transparent and by adding subtle color accents. The project was selected among 390 proposals as one of the 70 most outstanding projects, earning a place on the Global Grad Show’s platform.

This allowed for it to be included within platforms such as El Universal, DW Documentary and CNN International.

COOK-IN

Natalia Reyes and Mayte Guerrero

CookIn is a digital experience that aims to fight against the economic crisis that Covid- 19 has brought. It works through a platform that connects from small businesses and up to gourmet restaurants with people at home during the quarantine period. The system allows restaurants to promote daily recipes and provide the necessary supplies to their customers. Once the user acquires the experience, the ingredients will be sent by home service and later, a streaming will be carried out with the chef, who will explain the selected recipe step by step. CookIn will make the world cook together.

This project has been selected as a finalist within the call “Initiative to Find Solutions Addressing the Collateral Issues of Covid-19” from Global Grad Show, Dubai.

HIA APP

Rodrigo Méndez and Oscar Méndez

The ways of living are changing and so our social interaction. Through HIA (Human Interaction App) people can interact with their contacts like any other social network but in addition through vibrations. These will replace human contact due the Covid-19 pandemia, where the user can draw patterns to send and receive human gestures that can reduce anxiety and stress during lockdown.
