DESIGN PROJECT 4 (CEM)

PROFESSOR HUITZÍ MARÍN

LOZANÍA

The coronavirus pandemic has been a tragedy in every way, forcing us to transform the way we live and work. Parting from the reasoning: What will the post-pandemic office in Mexico be like? How will we be ready for the next pandemic? The group found that moving our activities outdoors is inevitable, giving rise to work dynamics that require distance, open spaces, variable hours and physical separation with emotional connection.

The Lozanía project proposes five items that solve individual and group work. Be it in the field, forest and garden, it solves the specific needs of the return to work. A hope of rebirth after a year of difficulty.

OPEN INTIMACY

Armando Gudarrama, Sergio Abad, Eduardo Olvera and Joanna Wolff

Even in the much needed outdoors, there are times when privacy is necessary. An individual space that allows you to isolate yourself. It consists of a rectangular cabin-type figure, which includes a floating bench that is supported by cables, has natural lighting, ventilation through the window with a fan design that opens and closes for air to circulate. The glasses allow privacy since they are opaque and it is up to the user whether to close the sliding door for privacy or leave it open. An opportunity for privacy in the middle of the open space.

THE BRIGHT DISTANCE

Mariana Pasillas, Nancy Martínez, Karina Cano and Sofía García

The dividing screens allow collective and individual work outside, without presenting a risk of contagion for social interaction. This is achieved thanks to their modularity and customization properties, as they can be sorted in multiple shapes, colors and compositions to allow the user to socialize while maintaining a healthy distance. In themselves, the partitions create a safe post-pandemic office environment since they allow collaborative work in a given space, without neglecting the health of all those involved, while making us fall in love with their use of color and the refraction of beautiful lights of hope, for a new beginning.

COMMUNITY TREE

Malry Fuentes, Pamela Uribe, Miranda Correa, Axel Eguiarte and Daniela Uribe

An alternative to one of the most important spaces in the office: the meeting room. The proposal parts from the group dynamics that take place around the bonfires, replicating the behavior that allows maintaining a healthy distance in a non-intrusive way. The Community Tree of Lozanía, allows group dynamics in a safe way, which have been carried out for years in a popular way around a common point, and manages to return the emotional connection that has been lost by the pandemic to achieve work goals. People will be able to feel close to others and to the outside again in a way that does not feel invasive, but natural.

GRASS FLOOR

Arantxa Zarate, Luis Santizo, Maggie Gilbón and Andrea Espejel

The piece proposes a workspace at floor level where part of the body remains in contact with the grass. The proposal allows the user to reconnect with nature after having spent a long time in isolation, making a more pleasant transition to the new normal. The benefits of the product are natural light, open and ventilated spaces, which promote a state of relaxation, improving the creativity and productivity of the user. A valuable way to return to the origin.

FACE TO FACE

María José Moreno, Valeria Alarcón, Ivana Hernández and Diana García

An outdoor furniture that proposes attractive and innovative shapes, giving the user the freedom to choose different positions, using the seats and tables to their preference, thanks to its four levels and its 90 ° turning system in the first and third level. This proposal makes post-pandemic office work easier, replacing classic furniture and helping to get out of the monotony of a classic office, inviting to forget the damage that the pandemic left in the labor issue and have a space to work, talk and share.
