As a final project of the course Diseño y Artesanía, an exhibition was proposed that, due to the circumstances of the isolation, will take place on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/expoquovadis/ from May 25 to June 2.

BACK

This course will seek to visually sensitize students in order to appreciate the value of Crafts and its intersections with Art and Design. Students will learn to analyze both the pieces and the assigned readings in a reflexive way, making constant comparisons between different categories, as well as between the past and the present.

The students took the texts reviewed during the course to create a curatorial statement, which also includes three questions that the teacher asked them to answer, implicitly, in each of the sections:

1. How are Design, Art and Craft similar and how are they different?

2. What is the future of Crafts and handcrafts, and how is that confronted and reconciled with a digital society?

3.Imagine that today, after the COVID crisis, we have to create a project of unity and national identity as it was done after the Mexican Revolution and for which Folk Art was used. If today we had to create this new project for a new Nation, what kind of objects and discourse would you use and why? How would you represent it thinking that Design, Art even Crafts should be integrated?
